7-8 Days Safari Shira Route

Trekking Overview

The Shira Route is one of the lesser-used trails on Mount Kilimanjaro and is nearly identical to the Lemosho Route in its latter stages. It begins at a higher altitude on the western side of the mountain, making it suitable for experienced trekkers or those well-acclimatized to altitude.

🌄 Scenery: Stunning and varied—from lush rainforest to the Shira Plateau, alpine desert, and glacier-covered summit.
Difficulty: Challenging. Starts at high altitude (3,600 m), which can be tough on those not acclimatized. Good acclimatization practices and a slower pace are crucial.
🧗‍♂️ Success Rate: Moderate to high (75%–85%) with proper acclimatization and a longer itinerary.
